Erin-Jean Designs has built a solid reputation on the quality of our dancewear creations. We are backed by our experience, and in-depth knowledge of fashion and couture design techniques, quality workmanship and ability to work with customers to execute any design they wish. We will first establish a cost estimate of the design creation. A 50% deposit of the quoted amount is required to begin production. Accurate measurements are taken by us or given to us by you. (Please see our custom design agreement in the Couture section of our website) A fitting time is scheduled, if necessary. Fittings for Out-of-state custom orders will be shipped directly to you for a try-on and personal critique with materials to assist you in your fitting. We suggest that someone helps you with the marking and fitting process. The cost balance is due upon completion of the costume before shipment or at the time of pick up. All custom pieces are final sales. Call or email us to set up an appointment for your next custom costume.
Each Custom order is unique; therefore, the number of work hours needed for completion is determined by the complexity of the design, the time needed for ordering materials and performing fittings as well as consideration of our current custom order list. We do everything in our power to have your custom order ready as soon as possible and we ask that you please allow 6-8 weeks (separate from shipping time) to complete any custom order. In many cases, orders can be completed in less time.

Since each costume is a unique creation, the terms of care will be based on the materials of each individual garment. We are happy to guide you with cleaning care, Please call or email us with any cleaning questions. Some materials are not very color-fast and therefore may bleed if washed. Erin-Jean Designs will always pre-wash fabrics to help eliminate a potential dye incident. However, we cannot be held responsible for the care of a garment once it is out of our hands. Erin-Jean Designs will instruct you after your purchase as to how you may care for your particular garment. Generally, most garments are made from poly-rayon-spandex blends which are best suited for dry-cleaning. However, Dry-clean at your own risk! Cleaners must take special care if your garment has any rhinestone details, satin cuffs and collars, satin binding, piping etc. The only dry-cleaning recommended is to take your garment to a reputable Bridal Dress Cleaner/Preservation. Often times the dancer’s main concern is washing the dance pant portion of the costume. In this case, the material is usually some form of Lycra. It should be gently pulled away from the main part of the costume and washed separately by hand with cold soapy water. Rinse and always dry a garment flat to avoid overstretching. Always store in a dry place with good air circulation to prevent mold and smell. Do not store in a box or in a closed bag. Never put wet costumes against one another to dry to avoid bleeding of dyes! Steam out wrinkles or press with a medium iron ( Must use cloth between fabric and iron) NEVER USE IRON DIRECTLY ON FABRIC-IT WILL MELT!!
